Inspiration

We are rooted in place. We seek to create offerings inspired by the land we call home and the folk we call neighbors. Home is Sitka, Alaska–a beautiful, remote island where mountains, ocean, fjords, rivers, rainforest and volcanoes converge. It is the traditional territory of the Tlingit people who have stewarded these lands since time immemorial.

Life on the outer coast isn’t always easy. Getting in and out can be tricky, the winters dark and rainy, the storms unrelenting, the ocean unforgiving. But it’s all worth it. This land shapes adventurous people and tight-knit communities. We’re lucky to be here.

Our Team

Zach Anderson
Co-Founder/General Manager/Head Brewer

Zach moved over from Juneau in hopes of creating a community driven space featuring traditional inspired libations for overall life enhancement. After spending time in the industry in Oregon, Hawaii, and most recently Juneau, he started Harbor Mountain Brewing Co. in 2020. Probably the worst employee on the team and doesn’t even know what’s going on. 

Emerald Hagy
Assistant GM/FOH Manager

Emerald joined the team part time many moons ago while continuing her profession as a Environmental Planner for Marine Infrastructure Projects, but lucky for us she wanted a change. She joined our team full-time a couple years ago greatly enjoying the challenges of entrepreneurship, brewing, and helping make Sitka a better place to be. HMBC greatly felt the impact of her abilities right away pushing us
to a level of professionalism we strive for. Seems like Emerald gets employee of the month about every month.

Parker Stone
Brewer

Parker joined the team after leading nature excursions for troubled youth for weeks at a time on the outer coast. He has been producing some of the best suds around for a while now utilizing his science degree from the great University of Alaska-Fairbanks. We are so lucky Parker has joined us and has been a vital addition to our success and we hope he stays forever. We can’t wait to see what libations he comes up with next.
